Easter’s On It’s Way

Easter’s On It’s Way

Believe it or not, spring has sprung. As I pile on the sweaters today, I keep the faith knowing that beneath the frozen layers of yellow grass and icy mud, magical things are starting to happen. Soon it will feel like spring, and this long, brutal winter will be a snowy memory.

I’m looking forward to Easter weekend, a perfect opportunity to celebrate the returning warmth and budding blooms for families of all denominations. The Niagara Region has lots of fun activities on offer for families with kids of all ages. With pastel wishes we give you Niagara Families’ quick overview of what’s on for Easter. Here’s hoping that by April 19th we can leave the mittens and gloves at home!

St. Catharines

Easter Egg Hunt In Support of Community Care St. Catharines Thorold
Easter Saturday at Jaycee Gardens

From the JCI Website:
With the help of community sponsors, the St.Catharines Jaycees will provide a free Easter Egg Hunt for children up to the age of 10. This event is put on for the community of St. Catharines as a way to celebrate the Easter long weekend. Traditionally this event has hosted four separate Easter Egg Hunts for children aged 1-10. Furthermore, the event is a great way for young people to learn more about our community. The Jaycees Annual Easter Egg Hunt attracts local community figures including the mayor, local MPP’s, city councilors, local media and emergency services personnel. Those attending the event are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or a cash donation to the gate, which at the completion of the event will be presented to Community Care St. Catharines – Thorold. The event also includes entertainment for the whole family, live music, inflatables, a BBQ and more.

Jaycee Gardens is located on Ontario Street between Linwell Road and Ziraldo Road. There is a Hakim Optical nearby as a landmark.

TO JAYCEE GARDENS: Take QEW, exit 47 for Ontario Street. Head North on Ontario Street toward Lake Ontario for about 1 km. Jaycee Gardens should be on the left side.

To catch the free shuttle that leaves from Lakeside Park the morning of the event, continue up Ontario Street, and make a left on Lakeport Road. You will be entering Port Dalhousie, and make a right at lights onto a one-way entrance to Lakeside Park.
